As Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack seeks re-election to his third term, Democrat challenger Lore Breitmeyer Jones believes the precinct needs a new leader with a focus on more community involvement in county projects.
Noack, who took office in January 2013, has often found himself on an island on issues facing the county including toll roads, mid-year staff changes and most recently being the only nay vote on approving advertising for the construction of a new forensics center.
“As your commissioner, I bring my experience in the private sector to the leadership of Montgomery County and I believe we can transform county government for the better through transparency and fiscal responsibility,” Noack said. “By working with municipalities and local leaders, we can responsibly address the issues that we face such as congestion, infrastructure, and the management of the growth of our county.”
Noack graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1994 and has worked in various roles in the financial industry for 17 years. He and his wife Lori have two sons.
“I’m a firm believer in accessibility and actively engage the constituents of Precinct 3 through my Commissioner’s Advisory Council, my high visibility in the community and my open-door policy,” Noack said. “I stand up for homeowners by speaking out against the local property tax increases and ensuring Montgomery County residents don’t have to live in fear of losing our homes.”
Jones believe more community input is needed.
“If elected, I would encourage robust public comment on road and infrastructure projects so that we avoid unintended consequences for our small businesses and communities,” she said. “South County is largely built up and the $5.9 million of tax-payer money that was spent on major projects in 2020 in Commissioner Precinct 3 was excessive and partially counterproductive.”
Jones said she would also focus on building relationships with other entities in the community.
“Our neighbors in South Montgomery County deserve a commissioner that approaches public service with respect and consideration for all of the residents and stakeholders in our community,” Jones said. “As commissioner of Precinct 3, I would strive to build constructive relationships with our small cities, townships, HOA’s and Chambers of Commerce to ensure our safety, economic prosperity and a better quality of life.”
Jones grew up in South Montgomery County and attended Conroe ISD schools. She graduated from McCullough High School and attended Georgetown University where she earned a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in economics and a specialization in East Europe/Russian Relations.
After heading her own business overseas for 17 year, Breitmeyer Jones has been active in local politics. Since 2016 she has served as the Democratic Precinct Chair and Election Judge of Precinct 32 in Grogan’s Mill Village. She was elected to serve on the Montgomery County Democratic Party’s Senior Advisory Council as the representative for Commissioner Precinct 3. In January of 2018 she was elected by the County Executive Committee to fill a mid-year vacancy as Deputy Chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. She was reelected Deputy Chair for a two-year term in June of 2018 which ended August 2020. For the last 10 years she has also worked for a large corporation in Sales and Client Services.
Early voting begins Oct. 13. Election Day is Nov. 3.
